Conservation of Rare and Endangered Species (CORES) at Wildlife Safari
The mission of CORES is to preserve and enhance rare and endangered species through reproduction, research, conservation and education efforts at Wildlife Safari and in the field, both domestic and international.
CORES is a program that encompasses all conservation and research projects that focus on rare and endangered species at Wildlife Safari and involves partnerships between the zoology department at Wildlife Safari and researchers across the globe. The park is proud to partner with American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) Species Survival Plans (SSPs), the Smithsonian's Conservation and Research Center, research projects in the field and other AZA zoos across the US.
The zoology department also works closely with our education and public relations department to disseminate new information to our guests, the public and the world. CORES supports Wildlife Safari conservation projects and other conservation projects in the field; therefore, one could find CORES projects existing around the globe. |
