Bring the Zoo to You!

Educational Outreach Programs

Our educational outreach programs are designed for individual classroom instruction (maximum 35 students) for a hands on and up close learning experience. Our inquiry-based classes can include the use of live animals, biofacts (such as skins and bones) and activities. Our presentation and animals will add some wild fun to your classroom.

CLASSROOM PROGRAMS OFFERED:

Animal Attire (Pre-K-K) K.1L.1

Discover the difference between fur, feathers and scales. Meet the animlas that wear these different animal coverings.

Animal Boogie (Pre-K-K) K.2P.1

Can you flap like a bird? Slither like a snake? Learn about how different animals move and how these adaptations help them live in the wild.

Living the Night Life (1st-2nd) 1.1L.1, 2.1L.1

Learn about nocturnal animals and the special adaptations that help them live under the moon.

Animal Diversity (1st-3rd) 1.1L.1, 2.1L.1, 3.1L.1

Investigate animals with back bones and explore the characteristics of each group. Mammals, Amphibians, Reptiles and Birds!

Amazing Adaptations (4th) 4.2L.1

Discover unique adaptations that help animals survive and thrive in the wild.

What's for Dinner (4th-5th) 4.2L.1, 5.2L.1

Learn what it means to be a carnivore, herbivore and omnivore. Discover the connections of a food web.

Outreach presenters will need:

  • Ground level or elevator access
  • An unloading and parking area close to the program location
  • 1 large table
  • No food, drinks or other animals allowed in the room of presentation

Other requirements:

  • Maximum of 35 participants per program or an additional $3 per person
  • Programs should take place indoors unless discussed with Education staff
  • Due to the nature of live animals, Wildlife Safari cannot guarantee which animals are at any program
  • Animals used in programs may eat nuts: be aware of ALLERGIES

Public Outreach

Our educational booths with live animals, biofacts and posters will add some "wild" to any fair, festival, grand opening or public event.
